The 1956 - 1957 Activities Calendar shows another full schedule of theater arts for the NHS community.
Still awaiting their own indoor theater, NHS Thespians would perform elsewhere on NHS's campus or others. The "Moonlight Theater" back-to-school production in September would feature three one acts.
Thespians were always involved in school activities, especially assemblies about the campus, often on the football field.
Me, Myself, and I
The production of "Me, Myself, and I" took place in November and was performed at Standard School.

One Night of Drama

And There was Light
April 6, 1957, Thespian Cherie Carr would assist Troupe 1293 at the Visalia One-Act Tournament performing And There Was Light.
Star Theater
One-Acts
Award-winner Thespian Cherie Carr would repeat her performance in And There Was Light from theVisalia One-Act Tournament, performing in the Star Theater One-acts held in the cafeteria May 2 and 3, 1957.
Plays titled Maizie, Pound of Prevention, Let's Make Up would entertain audiences for the night.
The play Mazie from the one-acts night would win honors at the annual Kern County Play Festival. Guyla Hall and Doug Powell supported Cherie in her win of Best Actress and their efforts helped to win the Best Play award.
The Maizie cast and crew would successfully perform the play on the "hilltop" known as Tehachapi, for the state prisoners, of all places.
